Match Report
In a game of footballing clichés
and crap goal kicks football proved to be the winner in a game
of 2 halves lasting 90 mins. Going down a goal after 15 mins
Irvine City worked hard with Mark Murphy producing 2 goals before
the break. After having rested over the summer, and for most
of the first half, David DeFriend’s shin pad came to the
rescue yet again when a looping cross from Mark Murphy was met
by said shin pad beating the goal keeper to his bottom left.
Following this Murphy decided to miss a completely open goal
from 3 yards out which was however ruled offside…..lucky
bastard. Winter Douglas added another goal soon after before
Laguna Utd added to their tally bringing the score to 4-2. Having
already tried once and failed Murphy spotted the goalkeeper
of his line and scored again from the kick off bringing the
score to 5-2.
